you must drive a Ford Focus?
was it you who purchased a motorhome / campervan ? ? ?
is it for that ? ? ?
the better ones are subscription based, you can buy them with a sim holder, so it uses the mobile sim signal
this one charges 20 quid a year, uses date which they say is fairly cheap

add to it the hard wire kit,

50 quid for the pair
many in the old VW t4 scene, used to get a old phone ( put a pay as you go sim in it ), wire a charger in from a 12V feed from the battery, hide it all behind a panel, you can track that then, apple even do " find my phone " , yes they can cut the battery, but the phones battery will last a while
depends on what you want to track and how much you want to spend
I user voda tracker and its £304 per year. I have no idea if that is good or bad
has it got a kitchen pod in it ? ? ? most put a false back on the kitchen pod and slot a phone in that space, run a 12V feed from somewhere, fit a 12v port ( old ciggie lighter socket ) and plug in a usb charger, put it on silent and you are good to go
or you in a cupboard you could put a false floor in that, loads of options
wire this to either the van battery or leisure battery if you have one, you might have a small 12v fuse board for lights / sockets in the back

TBG are you looking for an inexpensive tracker for a vehicle or a tracker for an inexpensive vehicle? just wondering?
Best security is move your obd2 port and put a false one in its place.
no, i mean run the 12V power lead from the leisure battery
cut the end of this, add it to the connection on the leisure battery ( so it doesnt stand out )
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-12v-P...QAAOSwstxU~GTY
then hide the ciggie lighter end and a phone in a hidden place
If you were worried about someone tracing the cable, you could add one of these close to it so they thought it was heading to that

Infact if you were that way inclined, you could even cut a hole behind that fake socket ( above ) and hide the lot behind that
dont forget you need to use the phone every few months on a Pay as you go sim to keep it active, so you need to be able to get to the phone
To stop it getting driven away, if it’s got one, take the rotor arm out
What about simply using a second mobile phone with a SIM in it (which I have already) as a tracker by using Google maps?
Generally it is very hard to steal a modern vehicle without the keys. Full blown campers do get towed away as they have decent values.
The tracker Blue Matt mentioned sounds very cheap . We have them on some of our rental vehicles and the subscriptions are around £10 a month.
Camper vans are going to be all the rage in the coming years, not only corona virus driven, people are enjoying the great out doors .
Corona-virus will keep some people holidaying here in the uk .
I have a full blown camper VW T4 transporter which is beautiful.
I just bought a 2013 accident damaged T5 . It has a full caravelle interior ( back seats fold into a bed ) I am going to use as a day van for cycling , walking etc .
