As one of his doubters I will be interested to see if does as well as Ojo.
I’d be delighted to be proven wrong!
I wouldn't go that far
Get enough chances to play and the law of averages says things will happen.
Glad he's been involved in something positive for his and City's sakes however, one swallow and all that.
Will save any change of opinion if and when I see some consistency.
For now though all good
Can't ask for much more!
Pleased for him today
The thing about Murphy is that he's at his best when not playing as a traditional winger.
His last season for Norwich he played a more roaming role. His runs, pace, crossing and finishing were sublime.
He can easily beat players when running at them at pace but he doesn't seem to do it from a standing start, which has been frustrating. Especially as before MM we weren't playing to his strengths, we were a very static team and expecting him to perform a task he isn't good at.
However, the system that MM and TC have implemented seems to suit him and Ojo very well. They get to drop a bit deeper and make runs to receive the ball. Both have goals and assists since MM and TC took over.
Class performance from Murphy today.

I hope MM doesn't drop him next game like Warnock and Harris always did no matter how he played.
You have to say he took it! Waited a while for that performance, let’s hope he kicks on.
If you play well you should keep your place.
Ojo has proved what a good player he is given a run of games.
Not being chosen to start is tough to take but hopefully he will be full of confidence when he gets his chance.
In other words, Murphy played well, he should start next game.
Assuming that is, Mick wants to play a similar game.
In Mick we trust.
For me the highlight was seeing all the other players mobbing him after his goal. They were clearly delighted for him which tells us that he is liked and rated by his peers. That was great to see. Mick has to take a lot of credit for his man management. Who would seriously have thought each of Vaulks, Murphy, Flint and Pack would step up collectively? I doff my cap to the man, I really do.
Murphy scored 8 goals last season despite limited playing time and 4 in the Premier League in his first season but Warnock and Harris never played him regularly! He scored and had an assist today but Mick substituted him for Bacuna and Coventry pulled a goal back when he was running tired defenders ragged?
