The World is going crazy.
Can't be offending transgender potatoe heads.
not really, story about nothing imo. they are still keeping their gendered toys, just removing "Mr" from the overall brand name
you can still by a mr potato head.
they are a pile of crap anyway, they used to be much better when you had to supply your own potato.
I'm convinced that they only sell any because they are one of the few toys that are marked as being suitable for age 2+, whereas lots of others are 3+. I think one of my kids got 4 of the things for their 2nd birthday
I almost choked on my breakfast earlier upon hearing this.
If I'm confused, what about the poor kids?
Quick quiz:
1. When was Mr Potato Head toy first sold?
2. When was Mrs Potato Head introduced?
3. Did you know the brand (rather than the toy) was called Mr Potato Head before today's story?
4. What was the sustainable version of Mr Potato Head called and when was it announced?
Will Spud Murphy be affected?
When asked at the rebrand meeting to justify the name change, Hasbro's Chief Executive Ms Maris Piper got all chippy, put on her jacket and stormed out of the building.
They've changed the name of a toy brand, why do you care?
exactly - they haven't even changed the name of the toy itself.
it'll still say Mr potato head on the box.
irresponsible journalism to write it up in such a ridiculous way, but anyone who has had their piss boiled by reading this should have a long hard look at themselves
Interesting to see if Mr Potato Head still only comes with same items it did when I was younger, if they're serious about reflecting evolving recognition of gender and family. Or has this all been about free advertising?
Mr Potato head was the first toy ever to be advertised on television.
Will King Edwards potatoes be called "edwards" from now on?
Or will a Queen Edward (or Edwina) soon be marketed?
