"How many dead men will it take / To build a dike that will not break? / How many children must we kill / Before we make the waves stand still?
I guess this could be classed as a Vietnam song too.
Written by Neil Young, it's about the Kent State university shootings, where Ohio National Guard officers shot and killed four students who were protesting against the Vietnam War in 1970.

War by Edwin Starr is a fantastic song.
My ex-neighbour used to work for a minor record label and he used to give me freebies now and again, including this triple CD set:

I Should Be Proud by Martha and the Vandellas, Motown's first protest song.
Billy Joel, Goodnight Saigon.
Just watched a documentary on Sky Arts about the songwriter Jimmy Webb, famous for writing many of Glen Campbell's hits. I was surprised to learn that Galveston was written about someone taken away to fight a war and hoping they would get through it. It was an anti-war song written with the Vietnam War in mind.
Surprised no one has mentioned the Rolling Stones' - 'Paint It Black'.
Yeah most of the tracks mentioned do resonate with me but there is one that stands head and shoulders above them in my eyes. Moratorium by Buffy St Marie. This one says it all, give it a spin on you tube, twas the b-side of soldier blue. If you do give it a go try the live version and please play it to the end.
Two if the most high profile were Lennon's Give Peace a Chance and Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner.
Bloody hell its worth a lot on Amazon £1,225.27
