Durban,Hibbitt,Slade,Solskjaer. There has been a few over the years. Who takes the title?
Trollope sprung to mind.
Worst line up goes to last night tho.
I heard today that Ole has had 400 million to spend at united. I wondered for a minute where we would be if Tan had given him that much….
Trollope would have been a good manager if we had the players.
Mike Mccarthy has done it including managing the Republic of Ireland. But he is not replicating his previous success with us.
In my lifetime , Durban
2 relegations
His wife ran off with a tennis coach poor sod
At another defeat down the vetch the travelling thousands packed behind the goal sang ....
Durban, Durban , where's your wife ?
Durban , where's your wife ?
And we thought Mick had it rough from the crowd last night !
Goodfellow , Mullen
Has to be Durban, although we had a head coach/manager called Graham Wiliams in the early 80's who was just as bad. Honourable mentions for Phil Neal and Russell Osman.
I remember being at an away game and one of the lads kept on chanting Corky out. Next morning i phoned him up to tell him the news he was longing for,Corky sacked. He was over the moon.
In my time, George Swindin
Yeah Neal and Osman were my go-to answers. Hibbitt has to be considered for the pitch narrowing thing.
One area where Swansea have absolutely battered us in the last decade or so is managers. They had a few really good ones and very few bad ones.
Managers who took our team forward since we got out of the bottom two divisions were LL, Dave Jones and malky. Warnock worked a miracle which he quickly undid. MM started well but it was all honeymoon ahead of a terrible marriage. The rest are too mediocre to even name.
On an unrelated point: how many clubs have as many managers with two stints as us? I can think of hibbitt, Eddie may, Frank burrows, Len ashurst, and that is just in my lifetime.
What was Terry Yorarths win percentage?
Not up to date but it answers your question:

Durban for me. I've been watching City since 1968 and he took us from Division 2 to Division 4 in two seasons. Graham Williams was really poor too but he was technically head coach as noted above. It was dismal under those two, in front of crowds as low as 2500 in the second tier.
Gabbs and Scott young was pretty awful
