Hypocritical Buffoonery should be an Olympic sport , we'd have a few medal chances .
poll out earlier today suggested that 30% of tory voters think the pm should resign over this
Would be interested to know the reason behind the tory no shows in the press. Has no.10 told them not to go, or are the ministers themselves refusing to turn up. I hope the met police are looking at this closely, along with the fraud office looking at the dodgy deals.
Personally I think the tories only have 1 chance of winning the next election, it would involve a grovelling apology to Theresa may and getting her back in as leader. Sunak, Javid, Williamson and the rest of the cabinet are all as slippery as the pm. Can't see that happening in a million years though
Well, personally I'd vote for anyone who shot the royals !! I think Labour are in decent shape, don't quite get the hatred for Starmer . It will take a lot for me to vote Labour, after growing up under the utterly verminous Blair and brown. But If the Westminster election was tomorrow I'd be voting labour
Either it's normal for the government to secretly give a huge number of untendered contracts to completely unsuitable associates or it's not.
Let's say it is normal, and I don't think it is. It's very unlikely that every government has done this equally, so there's probably one who has done it more.
The chances of it being normal AND more common in the past is small imo, so I'm quite happy to disagree and say this is the most corrupt government the UK I know of.
As is quite obvious, and as has been discussed on here numerous times, the normal tendering process rightly went out the window during covid as we needed equipment urgently. Normal tender might take several months.
And I'm not saying there's no corruption because there is. But there is a tendency to think everything is new but it very rarely is. Corruption scandals haunt all parties in all countries to varying degrees.
Covid aside which did change tender processes, I don't really think there is much stand out
No one says all politicians are all the same. In fact, if anyone is making stereotypes it's the likes of you.
The reality is corruption scandals are nothing new at all. They stalk all governments. Blair's Govt was rooted in it. You just tend to forget them as time moves on.

That was incompetence not corruption
And yeah, you'll find examples of it. But you'll find examples of grissly murders in London in 2021. That doesn't mean they didn't also happen in 2019 or 2012 or 2001 or 1995.
If anyone really thinks that only one party is capable of corruption then they are a fool or they are happy to ignore it when it's inconvenient.
Christ, only this year the council at one of our biggest cities was knee-deep in it

None of this excuses the current corruption scandal engulfing the Tories, but claiming other parties are incapable of it is just plain wrong
Why is it always whataboutism with you freaks. No one is a fan of tony Blair but he left power 15 ****ing years ago.
And the corruption of this government under this prime minister alone has more evidence of corruption than anyone else in a long time.
I can’t believe people are defending them just because they voted for them. Absolutely embarrassing the lengths people will go to, to treat politics like football.
It's not whataboutery. It's because you start talking nonsense.
Don't make stuff up and claim it only occurs in one party and you won't get the alternative arguments that so upset you
I'm saying corruption can occur across the spectrum and it's wrong.
Others seem to think 'their side' are incapable of it. Therefore a few examples may prove them wrong in that.
