I will take the second part of what you say on the chin. Fair enough.

I also generally think we should move away from left/right stuff, although it can't be ignored, and on this occasion, I think it's wholly accurate that most of the abuse comes from those of a left-wing opinion.

Objecting to that abuse does not make anyone right-wing however, and as mentioned, if ever we see any abuse from the right on here then I think that personally I would call it out. We just never see it do we?

Hmm, not sure what you mean. But in the context of an MP meeting grieving parents and continuing a meeting briefly with the consent of those parents (and this is in England where they all could have gone to a nightclub until 4am with no tests anyway), we had the following comments on here;

"she doesn't like being told what to do. However, they love telling the little people what to do."

A comment was also removed through editing which was far worse, but I saw it.

Maybe some of you were joking, it's so hard to tell as there is so much hatred on here. Either way, it doesn't really come across as being a good person.

According to the article by the way: One of the fathers told the BBC they agreed to keep talking whilst she moved further away, and Ms Keegan had "nothing to apologise for"..

This ebbs and flows, when Corbyn was in charge of the Labour party, anybody on here who sought to challenge the prevailing rhetoric that he might not be the worst person to have ever existed was frequently labelled all sorts of awful things. I was accused of being antisemitic many times by people who were never keen to explain their reasoning. A lot of the 'corbyn hates britain' nonsense spilled over into abuse of anybody who didn't display disdain for him, it wasn't enough to be ambivalent, you had to hate him. I have been called 'far left' before on here, which is plainly ridiculous. Corbyn and his senior front bench were attacked on this board far more than the current lot are.

I would agree though with the middle paragraph and suggest that anybody who defines themselves as left or right wing is probably not going to be worth listening to.

Left/right, Catholic/protestant, Jew/muslim, labour/conservative....all good for me. Just be a nice person and reasonable in your opinions.

Unfortunately, on here at least we all know from which direction the hatred spreads.
