Cardiff City women FA Cup 4th round

They are currently beating Burnley 3-0 away after half an hour. Didnt even know they were playing until the goal alerts came up on my phone.

Cardiff City Women are not in the FA Cup 4th round at Burnley.

Cardiff City Ladies (who severed ties with Cardiff City FC 20 years ago) are in the FA Cup and causing an upset.

Cardiff City women are away at TNS this afternoon - and also 0 - 3 up at half time.

    This is Cardiff City Ladies.

They are not affiliated with the club. They play in the FA Women's National League

The women's team from CCS are Cardiff City Women

and ironically they are also winning 3 - 0 away at HT (but at TNS in the Adran Welsh League)

Cardiff City Women win 1 - 5 away at TNS.

Swansea and Met are just scrabbling for second spot.

How did this happen? And how come the 'official' team plays in the Welsh League and the 'unofficial' club plays in the English league? Would have thought it would be the other way around

Cardiff City Women unbeaten so far this season and 9 points clear of Met. Going well in the cup too.

A massive turn around from previous years when they were a poor third to Swansea and Met.

Cardiff City Ladies are now in the 4th tier of the FA Women's pyramid. I think they were briefly in the top tier a few years back.

The WOL story I linked above says that they were bumped from the 3rd to 4th tier recently when the FA reorganised the women's leagues because they were a foreign/Welsh club in the English system.
