C'mon John you have to admit Tina's stuff with Ike in the 60s like River Deep Mountain High, the Hunter,, Shake, Dust My Broom, A Fool in Love, Take you higher just to name a few songs were far, far better than anything she did in the 80s.

Oh yes - I agree with all of that. It's just that I liked some of the later poppy stuff as well - but not as much as the earlier songs.

I am not a big fan of her stuff , I wouldn't put her in the same class as the Supremes , Aretha Franklin , Nina Simone

Saw her at Woburn Abbey around 1990.
The minute she walked onto the stage she had the crowd in her pocket.
That's a rare quality to have.
