There’s something in the back of my mind thinking you may be right. I can remember that it used to be the only place to stay open after the pubs closed on a Sunday night - think it was until midnight. Not sure why they bothered really, there was hardly anyone in there on the couple of occasions I went there on a Sunday.
The Culver, Ely.
Every day from '94 to '98. Great pint of Hurlimanns (hooligans) in there at that time.
Hippo Club!!!
I’ve been waiting for someone to mention the Ocean Club on Rover Way
Any one get in the Police club back in the days when pubs used to close at three?
The mention of the police reminded me of the Old Howardians Club on Clifton St, it was accessed through a small alleyway next to Clifton St nick. It came to life after outside of licensing hours, both afternoon & night, never a pick of bother in there though with its very own neighbourly security frequenting the place
