Lets just put this climate nonsense to bed
Sun, Moon and Solar Activity
LARGEST FLARE FOR OVER 6 YEARS: Sunspot region AR3590 just produce the largest flare of Solar Cycle 25 [peaks this year] which makes it the largest flare since 2017! It was an X6 flare.

is this bad?
this seems bad
China just recrded it's coldest December since 1951 [72 years]. - since their records began. I must have missed that on the 10 O'clock News..
I think you might want to look at that a bit more closely - Beijing had an extremely cold spell for most of December, that does make December the coldest on record for Beijing. Not the whole of China as far as I'm aware.
And despite the extreme cold in northern china - globally 2023 was the warmest year on record.
England and Wales recorded the warmest February on record.
(Good thing or bad thing, Gluey?)

I'm going to go out on a limb and call this 'bad'.
78 out of 2419 weather stations in China.
Yes they can have some very cold weather in Northern and inland China during the winter, and indeed a warming climate can make extreme weather events more frequent.
The notion that some very cold weather in China somehow means that global warming isn't happening or is nothing to worry about just shows a large amount of ignorance on the topic
A lot of posters here remind me of that US politician who showed congress a snowball to say man made climate change didn't exist - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3E0a_60PMR8
PS I love the PBS History Channel.

At least that congressman was prepared to say what he actually believed, even if he's misunderstood a few things
hat we get on this board instead is these kind of half statements where people will drop some kind of vaguely related point into the conversation, but will always fall short of actually explaining what they think that means, or elaborating on what their actual position is - presumably because if they never present a fully formed argument they can't be proven wrong.
It's all just innuendo eg "follow the money - some rich people have bought some houses in Hawaii" -but you never get any explanation of who and what they think that means.
Or there will be a post about some cold weather in China - presumably to try to make the point that Climate change isn't happening or important or something like that, but the exact point is never made, so it kind of just hangs there.
