    Rotherham

Will be relegated tonight if they fail to win or if they can't get the game called off.

"Love"? I wouldn't be against it, but I wouldn't want to pin my hopes on him.

I've had a soft spot for them ever since I went up there to see us lose 1-0 on New Year's Day in the '90s. I didn't realise Rotherham is basically a suburb of Sheffield. It must be hard being right on the doorstep of Wednesday and United. Not to mention Leeds, Man Utd and Man City.

    A suburb of Sheffield?

I have never heard anyone suggest that before.

Very different places divided by the M1 and once united by steelworks - but steel as a major employer was killed off in the 1980s.

    PS - Barnsley’s not a suburb either.

PPS - I also have a soft spot for them.

All I remember is there was no country between them. There's country between Barry and Cardiff. And they're closer.

Not much land between them, but places like Bolton and Bury are the same, but certainly not considered Manchester.

I guess it's part of a Greater Sheffield if such a thing existed.

I like them, wholly because I grew up with the Chuckle Brothers. (Not personally alas, only through the TV)

Went to the old ground. Hottest tea ever had. The place (town) looked very run down and rusty. Don’t deserve any sympathy after watergate.
