He's a Forest fan who pretends he follows City
He is a huge City fan. There's a great clip of him on YouTube where he talks about following the City home and away in the 80s, and the clothes and the fashion that went with it.
He follows Forest to an extent because his partner Vicky McClure is a Forest fan
He also follows Merthyr as they are his home town club.
I've heard him speak on TalkSport several times about his love of all three clubs
He did a great video about City in the TV coverage of the Pompey cup final
Jonny Owen isnt a "huge City fan" either. Hes a massive Merthyr fan who went to some City games in the 80 as a lot of young lads did in the casual era.
Hes very good at selling himself, best of luck to him, hes a really positive guy and I like a lot of his work, especially the Forest film I Believe in Miracles. His latest venture the Dayfever thing seems to be doing really well too.
He's either a very good researcher or he definitely has a decent claim to being a city fan as that fa Cup film was superb I think it spoke for a lot of us who grew up at the same time
If he also has a place in his heart for Merthyr and indeed follows them more closely than CCFC then that's cool as it's his local team
I would rather someone supports city and Merthyr or Merthyr and city in whatever order than be a Taffy man united or Liverpool fan
Forest can naff off though
BBC Sounds has some good stuff, I've got things lined up wrongly accused the Annette Hewins story looks interesting, Shreds (listened to that one very good), Aberfan tip number 7, and now this.
Was a fantastic presenter of the wonderful programme that was soccer Sunday back in the 90s.
What a programme that was.

Why were Nottingham Forest mentioned in Line of Duty?
It’s no secret that McClure is from Nottingham, although the award-winning actress is actually a Notts County supporter.
Kai Reid who plays Josh in Line of Duty, however, is McClure’s real-life nephew and is an ardent Forest fan.
