We won away, played a bit, were solid, and scored the right type of goal, but only won by one ffs that's terrible, I can't be happy
Bulut Out
only going to do away trips next season sod the home games
Here's how we finished in terms of home league table and away league table since the Premier League under Warnock:
2018/19: H: 19 A: 17
2019/20: H: 4 A: 9
2020/21: H: 16 A: 3
2021/22: H: 21 A: 10
2022/23: H: 20 A: 19
2023/24: H: 13 A: 8
Apart from last season, our away form has been generally decent, even good. Our home form has been poor for several seasons now and even this season hasn't seen a great improvement. That's nothing against Bulut or any of the other managers, but this has been a consistent theme for 4 seasons now.
I think it's been a general case of not being very good at breaking teams down when we attack. At home the onus is on the home team to "have a go", yet we've been better sitting back, inviting teams on to us then attacking on the break. Our poor stats from open play for a number of seasons show we're not great at opening teams up. Nothing has really changed this season but we battle hard at set pieces and score lots from them, particularly from second balls where we're first to react.
Because since Neil Harris left we have generally had passive, negative, cautious managers not prepared to get on the front foot. Plus the squad has generally been void of creative players, especially in midfield. Managers and a squad more comfortable with trying to keep it tight away from home and nick a goal, usually a set piece, but when the onus is on us as the home side to attack we have been found seriously wanting.
Even Harris wasnt all out attack but the season we made the play offs he had a fit Tomlin and certainly played to our attacking strengths. No manager since has been prepared to throw bodies forward at home, or play a style of play to get on the front foot and give the fans something to get behind. Its little wonder the CCS resembles a library these days.
Chant last night, “Get him off, get him off, get him off”
5 minutes later “Keep him on, keep him on, keep him on”
Funny as f uck
Whether we like it or not its a results based business and Managers careers hinge on them
here are some stats which i,ve nicked from the other board which is interesting reading
Of the 18 teams who were in the championship last season and are in it this season Cardiff so far increase their points from last season to this season by just over 20% This is the best increase of any team that is still in the division from last season.
Just pointing out that it is a big achievement where we were at beginning of season with a transfer embargo
You can't argue with stats like that and I think we have over achieved this season
Would be nice to play with panache and style week in week out of course on a consistent basis but lets be realistic we just haven't got the quality at the minute . Bulut would be perfect for a side like Norwich as an example in the championship who have better quality

Also we had an Embargo and lost the three best players.
Let's have a go, anyway
The stat is incorrect for starters. 59 points this season and 41 points last season is an increase of 43.9%. The increase is 18 points.
In 2017/18 we won 62 points and won promotion the following season with 90 points. The percentage increase was 45% but the actual increase was 28 points. Percentage-wise virtually the same as this season but a far greater points increase. It's likely that's the greatest percentage increase for teams in the Championship last season, but as our points tally was lower than any other, it's less of an achievement - 43.9% for a side with, say, 60 points last season would mean a 26 point increase.
Suppose we'd won 5 points last season. A 43.9% increase would see us win 7 points this season. 85 points last season would result in an increase to 122 points at 43.9%.
Does a 43.9% increase in points from last season sound better than an actual increase of 18 points? I don't know. I'd just use actual points instead of percentages.
Ignore it anyway. We won 49 points last season, not 41. I was looking at goals scored for some stupid reason. It is 20%, but the point still stands.
In any case, percentage or otherwise, we've gained more points than any other side in last season's Championship.

You do realise we replaced those players? And a transfer embargo didnt stop us signing players, just couldnt pay a fee like 75% of the clubs in the division. As Dalman says himself, we are top 6 when it comes to wage bill.
You and Moz are fighting it out to be Buluts version of that Comical Ali fella.
"There are no American infidels in Bagdhad!"
Things would have been alot different if our targets in the January window from Greece , Turkey and Croatia would have materialized i,m sure but it wasn't to be all forward players too exactly what we've been screaming out for in the way Bulut sets up his side
Talking of Futsal the FA Wales Elite league play off final next month . Looking forward to that
