Spurs a Protestant club
Well, the pope did pay us a visit once, and we all know what was said to those down west when they went to see him.
Grangetown was very Irish Catholic, and not that long ago, either.
seen a few Celtic / City 1/2 and 1/2 scarfs over the years
Many Cardiffians have Catholic heritage. There’s probably kids who, nowadays, go to non denominational schools have parents, grand or great grand parents who were brought up in the Catholic faith.
No place for religion in Sport.
You only have to see the bile and hatred it causes in Jockland.
Well, seeing as Catholic countries generally produce the best football players, I'll go with that.
More than happy to be a "Catholic" team rather then being lumped in with that lot on the right, jeepers
I don't think the image has any deeper meaning or insight into the history of Catholicism in Cardiff, I'm guessing some kid has seen the weird obsession elements of Swansea's support have with union jacks/loyalism and decided that we must be a bunch of Irish republicans
Lots of Catholics in Cardiff….even had a “Catholic Club” in Grangetown…..once upon a time :(
I don't think that makes them a protestant club now.
The lad who compiled that list is clueless if he thinks religion has anything to do with football clubs in the UK apart from the Old Firm and clubs in Northern Ireland. Let's be fair, even Rangers (the club) are not the sectarian knobheads of yester year even if a fair amount of their supporters can be.
How can Newcastle be a proddy club with Pope in goals
