    Well, couldn't resist this challenge. Actually, I think Port Vale might be first club not named after a settlement, not a place . It seems Port Vale Wharf was a place you could stop on the Trent & Mersey Canal, near to the ground.

    They were originally Woolwich Arsenal, and that is definitely on the map.

    Port vale is unique because the place 'Port Vale' doesn't actually exist. Every other team in the EFL and Prem has a name to associate it with a place.

    with regards to Rangers and Celtic the names are both predicated by'Glasgow,
