Surely Neil bought him as a full back initially? He has recruited two players for every position to a very calculated degree this window gone (which I wish our previous managers had done). But it is possible he's seen things in training that have changed his thinking.

It might not be that Neil is so defense orientated with full backs but rather prioritises defense as an attribute. Given that Neil has been managing at the level we are at now, then any player who can defend to his standard and attack too is probably a valuable player pushing to play at a higher level. I'm trying to remember who he had at fullback at QPR?
They had Kyle Walker at QPR when Warnock was there.
