Thread: short ski breaks

    short ski breaks

not doing a week this year with my boy but fancy a long weekend somewhere.

We usually go the same place every year (eastern Europe) so I have no idea about a short break closer to home so to speak in late Feb/early March.

Anyone done something similar....France/Andorra perhaps flying from B'ham/Bristol.....the less stress the better as I have the lad to look after as well

    any info gratefully received...CIA

I'll go easy on you today, you must be suffering enough, with the City getting a HOME cup draw!

You won't be making a 'monkey' off your fellow fans today!

Get a cheap flight to Bergamo, then train / bus to Livigno. Done it a few times, plenty of ski ing and a lively resort.
We're going in Feb, but hiring a car to get to the slopes as there's 4 of us.
The train is not expensive mind, and a nice scenic trip around Lake Como to get there.

We've been to Vogel in Slovenia and Harrachov in Czech. Enjoyed both.

Vogel is pretty unique, the resort is on top of a mountain and only accessible by cable car. There's a small town about 8km away where we rented an apartment.

We got their via Trieste airport, then a bus to the Slovenian border town of Nova Giorica and a train to Bohinjska Bistrica where we stayed. It's much easier than it sounds.

Harrachov is about 90 miles north of Prague. Easy enough to rent a car and drive up
