I wholeheartedly agree with you. Drives me mad. As does the constant long throws even a quick short one is on. It’s percentage football.

stats guys seem to be advocating long throws, almost everywhere on the pitch.

Not only does it sometimes lead to a chance for the team making the long throw, but it less often results in a shot against.
Not sure why that would be, but it does.
