I was determined to read the book before watching the series, but its still on my nook completely unread.
Not sure whether to speed read the book or just pile into the TV show.

First episode up on Amazon and it's quite a wild ride! Looks like it's going to be a good show.

Not read the book, in fact I use a reverse system where the movie/tv show is the audition for the book.
For example, I liked the films "Gone Girl" and "The Martian" so I then went and read the books which both turned out to be terrific.
Can't be arsed getting into the Game of Thrones books though, that looks like a lot of arseache.

They're very good, but a hard read in the middle of the series, when a few new characters were thrown in.
But I found that revisiting the shows after reading the books, it seemed better, even though I'd seen/read it before.
The TV series is well past the books now, and I suspect the final one or two books won't be released until the TV show finishes.
