Withdraw the cash from the hole in the wall for f*ck all, take said cash out with you, whether to the bookies, pub, club etc, leave card at home, when the cash is gone retire gracefully, having spent what you could afford, no temptation whatsoever to keep flashing the card which, as alluded to by other posters, may result in you having a rude awakening when next checking your balance.
