If there is no doubt whatsoever of the convicted person being the murderer, then no definitely not.
In this particular case, the individual concerned has always declared his innocence despite overwhelming forensic evidence that he was indeed the murderer.
Incredibly, his defence during his trial in 1989 was that a person unknown must have got into his flat, stolen his clothes, dressed in them, attacked and murdered the victim without his knowledge, then used his car to dispose of her body and left his clothes where they would be found to incriminate him.
This guy shouldn't be released. He should be shot.
