two more goals again tonight. I thought he looked like he had something to offer in the 10 minutes or whatever it was he played for us last season
Not a bad finish either

Season long loan. I can't see anything about a recall clause - although there may be one.

That cross is a dream, he'd be waiting a long time for one like that off Noone. I see he made that site's team of the week for Frenchmen playing abroad along with Koscielny, Pogba and Nasri, whoever they are.
Saadi is now three goals clear as top scorer in the Belgian first division.

It's probably too early to be calling him the new Velikonja but he's made a great start there. I don't understand why we didn't send more out before the deadline, did we not understand the new rules or was there just no interest in our players? It has to be good for Saadi and Oshilaja that they're playing regular football and even though Newport isn't a dream move for Rhys Healey, it must be better for him there than wasting more time in our DVP team.
I'm sure the new loan rules were made with good intentions but it seems harsh that a player like Semi Ajayi has almost been punished for a good pre-season. He made it right to the edge of the first team and there can be little blame attached to Trollope for not sending him out but then Manga stayed, everyone got fit and now we've gone to a flat back four so he's almost certainly got to twiddle his thumbs till January. The same applies to David Tutonda to a lesser degree, both lads should be out there playing league football and getting the chance to make the kind of impression that Saadi has.
Correct me if i'm wrong but Velikonja's main goalscoring came in the Belgium 2nd tier?
Saadi is banging them in at the top div which is quite encouraging.
Very encouraging, yes. I guess he'll be a marked man now so it'll be interesting to see if he can keep this scoring run going. If he can't then has he got the all-round game to make him worth a starting place anyway? Even if the answer to both of those is yes then can we be a club that gets the best out of him when he comes back? I very much doubt he'd have scored seven goals for us, we can't have created that many good chances all season. I'm confident that Lambert will score regularly for us if, and it's a big if, we can provide a decent service to him and that will be the challenge if Saadi turns out to be the real deal. That cross he gets for his first goal at the weekend is ridiculous, when was the last time you saw a City player put a ball in like that on the run?
