They finished third, ahead of Spurs.

They'd have still qualified for the Champions League in 4th place if Spurs had finished above them.

But yes, Spurs were also in freefall, along with Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal. It was a race to see who didn't want to play in the Champions League. Arsenal and Man Utd won.

At least we know Lampard will play the youngsters if they are good enough. Sarri was adverse to any player below the age of 24.
    Mount is one good player

And for winning a European trophy, so does he have to thank Arsenal, Manchester United, Frankfurt, Slavia Prague, Dynamo Kyiv, Malmo, Videoton, PAOK and Bate Borisov? While we're at it does he also have to thank every other team in the league they finished above?

Face it, he did well and has been rewarded by going to Juve, your strange devotion to this idea he's under-performed is frankly bizarre

Lampard would be a very strange appointment. There are also rumours of Ralf Rangnick which would make a lot more sense.

The Europa League is a tinpot trophy that is used by the bigger clubs to give their fringe players a run out!

Ok, here's the thing for all you guys bigging up Sarri. You say the best club in Europe came for him, that he can turn average players into world beaters, that he can win tinpot trophies and finish above teams in freefall. But here's the kicker .. if Juventus don't win the Champions League, he will go down in history as being a failure.

*Thread bookmarked. See you all again, same time next year

Yeah, appointing Mr Chelsea who loves the club is very strange. I agree they should go for a more mercenary type of manager, who's in it for the money.

99.9% of people in football want to be at the best club and get the most money. To think otherwise is extremely naive. Lampard is a West Ham fan, he went to Chelsea. He then went to Man City and scored against Chelsea. He's a professional, just like Sarri.

You really love Mr Sarri don't you .. Messi is going to be very jealous when he finds out!

Who cares about you and your cabal of Messi dick lickers. Bigging up Sarri has got to be the most absurd thing I have ever heard from you lot (and there are many howlers to choose from). The fans wanted him gone, and they are overwhelmingly in favour of Lampard, as are the players.

Serious question for you and your deluded mates: Did you cry when the Chelsea fans were singing "We want Sarri out?"
