    Classic Millionaire

Watching an old episode tonight, and a female contestant is asked “ What part of the body can be described as Bandy”
    A. Eyes B. Ears C. Arms D. Legs.
She says” can I ask the audience?”
I’m thinking , **** me, how does she not know that!!.
Then 4% of the audience say Eyes, 3% say Ears, and 2% say Arms. FFS 😂😂😂

    Johnny Vegas for £200
Which of these celebrations normally takes place on the last day of a month?

    A. Guy Fawkes Night, B. Halloween, C. St Patrick's Day, D. Christmas Day.

JV doesn't know so he asks the audience. 98% get it right, but 2% say Christmas day

Pointless can be similar. I can't think of specific examples, but you get some questions where you think "how on earth haven't everyone got that answer"?

Pointless had a round with anagrams of tv comedy panel shows. One of the clues was IQ. 97 people got it right.

There was an old millionaire prog that had the questionabout clergy.
Which iof these is a rank in the clergy?
    A: Rodent B: Primate C: Marsupial D: Reptile (I think)

The young woman used 50/50, which left Primate and Marsupial.

    Yep, she went for Marsupial.

Then there was the Tipping Point classic -
"SWAP" is an anagram og which stinging insect?
Contestant buzzed in (no pun intended) and said triumpantly "BEE"

I remember that young woman going marsupial. Wasn't that the £1000 question and she left with nothing?

It was one of the "easy" ones, £1000 or less, and she left with FA

Agree. They have no incentive to answer honestly.

If you put a poll on here with one obviously right answer and 3 wrong ones I'd be surprised if more than 75% of people try to answer it correctly

Unless Leo FW was one of the answers 😂
Seriously, your probably right. Still can’t believe the contestant didn’t know it .

What about the girl on the American version of Family fortunes?
Up against another contestant. First to press the buzzer. The host asks “what is Popeyes favourite food”
The girl buzzes as quick as a flash, and confidently shouts “ Chicken” !!

I struggled with one of those simple questions. I prefer those who are happily ignorant to deluded and malicious self-proclaimed experts. I like this girl :

How would pressing the wrong answer get you out of the studio quicker? Why do you go in the 1st place? What about the poor contestant you misled? These are all questions that you could answer without the help of the audience. 😂

    Re: Classic Millionaire

For some of the thickest people on the planet it's difficult to beat Tipping Point. My sister always wants the youngest of the contestants to win but I will always favour those that at the very least have a reasonable grasp of general knowledge. My wife cannot understand why I watch the programme when I'm forever shouting out, "you're as thick as s**t!"

Maybe it's an age thing but I get infuriated when a contestant says, "It's a bit before my time" when asked a history question. What do they imagine history is about ?!!

Having said all that, I find it quite heartening to see a younger contestant with good and wide-ranging general knowledge. Unfortunately they are now becoming a rare breed.

Anyhow if people want to believe that the Himalayas are in Europe, Skopelos is an island belonging to Scotland etc etc, good luck to them.

If the other 90% thought along the same lines as you, the contestant would have been scuppered by the audience. 😂😂
