And they rested
And did exercises
And made art and played
And learned new ways of doing things
And stopped and listened more deeply
Some meditated, some prayed, and some met their shadow
And people began to think differently
And people healed
And in the absence of people who lived in ignorant ways, dangerous, meaningless and heartless the earth began to heal
And when the danger ended and people found themselves they grieved for the dead
And made new choices
And dreamed of new visions
And created new ways of living
And completely healed the earth just as they were healed

Lovely poem. Not sure if it's Spanish or not? Sadly 16 years later Spain was embroiled in a civil war, which was persecutor to the 2nd WW. General Franco and his fascist Falange party aided and abetted by the Nazis trampling all over the working class, socialists and anarchists. I can thoroughly recommend George Orwell's (surely the best ever British author?) take on the war, in his 'Homage To Catalonia'.
