Given the public reaction to closing pubs early and not being allowed to sell alcohol, I understand why they don't want to. I think most people know that a full lockdown is needed but doing it before Christmas will only result in more angry people and arguably more people deciding to do what the hell they want anyway.

This is a serious virus that is killing people and killing people on the front line

Emergency legislation should be passed now that means instead of the police issuing people with a fine or giving them a ticket cars are clamped and people having house parties are rounded up , put in a van and taken down the station and nicked .

Obey the rules , stop poncing about giving directives or suggestions and get a grip .

Manchester police failed to record 80,000 crimes in 1 year - that's over 200 each day, including sexual violence, assault, rape, manslaughter, but let's arrest folk for having a party.

Then again, it's probably something Plod would sent a small army to attend.

I’ve never understood families who only get together at Christmas. How ever busy you are, there are more important things in life.
Fair enough, if you live so far away it makes it almost impossible to visit regularly, but there are many folk who could make more effort, but choose not to for what ever reason, then regret it when it’s too late..
Yes its a strange one its almost as if oh well we have to see them at some point in the year I do find all this emotion over Xmas amusing to say the least . I'm sure that there are some really genuine Xmas get together's , however I should imagine there is fair few who feel obligated to do the right thing at that time of the year which is lovely , but lets now kid ourselves their will be lots who think oh god no not again its Xmas and cringe worth family party games and repeat stories .

There has been many a comedy drama about Xmas and families to back this theory up , guess this year its rather more poignant though for the elderly and vulnerable .

There has to be a balance, Sludge, when there is compromise you would hope that people are sensible, or at least the majority, that's what the governments are banking on. There also has to be an element of risk if people are going to have a semblance of normality during a period that means a lot to some. I'm fine with that. I don't see this as a them against us situation, it's a terrible position for all sides of the political divide to be in. The state have to allow some normality, with certain restrictions, and they can't pander to the cretins and negligent amongst us. That would make a mockery of living in a democracy.

Apparently mass testing is a waste of time is that why we've not seen much of it in wales , its seems at odds with the political battle goings on in England where the test ,trace and isolate mantra has been chucked about for a very long time ??

Balance? Are you joking?!? Read this thread again.

"Sorry kids, it's time to cancel Christmas," says a man with no kids.

"No families meeting up for Christmas, lockdown, simple as that," says a guy who wouldn't have been meeting up with his family even if Covid-19 had never existed.

"Football, you can shove it," says a fella who frequently tells us he hates modern football. On a modern football message board.

"Gigs, get fecked," says a man who never goes to gigs.

"Pubs with people getting pissed up, no chance," says a guy who never goes to pubs as is not able to drink alcohol.

"The shops are packed with people carrying bags of presents. This country is full of brain dead idiots," says a fella who has no presents to buy.

"I couldn't give a toss if Christmas is an important time for some," says a man who doesn't like Christmas or anything else other than wanking, fishing and dreadful music.

"People having house parties should be rounded up, put in a van, taken down the station and nicked," says a bloke who clearly doesn't understand how the virus spreads, but who has apparently appointed himself as a spokesman for the medical profession.

    Balance, be bolloxed.

Should we listen to a man who is shut in his flat with no idea whatsoever about the virus , other that he has googled or should we listen to highly trained experts on disease control and the people who are dealing on the frontline with the effects on their patients and their doctors and nurses ?

Bald little shortarse in his flat ?

    Emergency medical consultant ?

    Its a close one

The problem is you're not a highly-trained expert on disease control, you're not dealing with the virus on the front line and you don't speak for those who are. You're just a boring tosser talking shit on a message board.

The problem here is I'm not the one doing the puritanical preaching. I'm not disputing anything the medical experts say. I'm merely pointing out that you're not one of them. You're just a miserable twat. As for going stir crazy, you keep taking the tablets. As always.

There is no problem , apart from covid

Regarding tablets , the ones you were on are very mild , you need to see a specialist for a more in depth evaluation

    I suspect dysthymia

    Good luck

Fortunately, unlike your good self, I haven't required any medication for a couple of years. I appreciate you believe you're an expert on mental health, but I suspect you're full of shit.

I am glad you have not , in your opinion , required medication for a couple of years but you yourself were recently going on about being depressed again . Which is a very serious condition .

When there was a thread about mental health some weeks back I did my best to give my experience of a patient of secondary mental health services and your charming and infantile response was you would have loved to have contributed to the thread but yours truly always hi jacked any thread on mental health . Now whilst I often bring attention to male mental health on here ......its a serious issue ...I have tried to dominate any discussion. I have said what has worked for me , what hasn't and have advised others who have recently been diagnosed to potential sources of support. I know a fair bit about mental health through personal experience and I have also worked with people with mental health problems . I am not a psychiatrist , psychologist or therapist but if I can help I will . Several people who have not wanted to talk about mental health on here have sent me pm s and I have done my best to help.

After you got into a strop on the last mental health thread you said you were going through a period of depression . So I gave you a bell and said message board differences aside get in touch if you want a chat or some support .

I didn't hear from you so I though OK, no worries

However if you have experienced several periods of depression any doctor should be referring you for specialist help as persistent depressive episodes , called dysthymia , normally require more help

If you are already getting specialist help , thats great , if you are not then its your choice as to whether or not you seek that help .

    Good luck TLG

Seriously, give it a rest. Your 'advice' is neither necessary or in any way welcome. Much like the vast majority of the crap you post on here these days, it's just tedious.

It's difficult to pinpoint exactly. Maybe it was one too many tedious posts about his dislike of modern football or the Premier League or Sky TV or 'plastics' or pubs or alcohol or mental health or whatever (delete as applicable). But it was probably a couple of utterly disgusting PMs I received at the end of a hard day's work a few months ago. They pretty much put the lid on it. No time for that kind of shit.
