My brother-in-law is a Rotherham season ticket holder and contacted me last night to ask if it was true we were in for Revell. His comments were - 'He doesn't score many for us - can we swap him for Le Fondre...'

He didn't seem worried about losing him. I told him Slade is preparing for next season in League One!

We are not a team in that position but we are heading there with this signing. We are heading there anyway with the likes of Macheda and Le Fondre. As a matter of interest how many times have you watched him play? Just wondering if you base your judgement of players purely on statistics.

"revell's control and goalscoring record is average at best, but his workrate in bringing others into play, and chasing hopeless balls puts him on the same level as dave gwyther for me, and probably the hardest working miller ive ever seen"

"The critical question is can he make a valuable contribution to the second half of our season. The answer is a resounding yes."

"I'm a Revs fan but your point about his contribution to both goals in the only game we've won recently at Wigan. I think thats the main problem, we've only won one league game in ages and Revs has been involved in all of them."

Well after Rotherham outplayed us the fellow who sits next to me said "if only they had somebody who could put the ball in the net".

Le Fondre is a good football player. Maybe suffering from a lack of confidence at the moment.

But hey, the whole team is suffering from a lack of confidence.....

Not inspired by this signing, if the club return to blue I will support the guy until he proves otherwise.
If they dont return to blue (before anyone asks ) I might not see him.

Have I hit a raw nerve? My point is, with a signing like Revell that is not a step forward but a step backwards. Yes Slade maybe slightly careful than previous spending, but I'm sure Revell is not going to add anything that we haven't already got at the club.

I hope Joe Mason can return to fitness soon. He has proved he can score in the championship. He would be ideal with Jones. When i think of the chances ALF has missed I am sure Mason would have tucked those away. Remember Wembly and Liverpool.

Pretty positive really.Class is needed but there are times when sheer hard work and attitude to get stuck in is needed.I think this is one of those times you cast your mind back to Brentford and Watford and that will tell you what fighting qualities we have at the moment we need grafters otherwise Div 1 beckons never mind premier league.

I think we should all pool our money in and pay for their contracts to be burnt.

He was excellent against us. Work-rate superb, link-up play decent... Could see him getting 10+ goals with Whitts delivery.
I think a lot of our fans are not seeing, that this league isn't one where an exotic sounding name is going to take the league by storm. It is your British, bread and butter players who get the job done.
Slade may have had a bit of a player revolt on his hands, mainly due to a lot of them being overly-pampered, egotistical lazy bastards.

We are heading that way that's for sure.

http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/thumbup.gif We can't even play route one, you need a goal scorer around the big men. We have Le fondre. Its pretty obvious whats going on. Slade has been told to get rid of the high earners in the squad and replace them as best he can. At best we will end up as bad as we already are but as is likely these low costs signings are going decrease what is relatively a poor team. We will finsh bottom half of the table and if we have a poor January not winning any of the tough games we have, we will be embroiled in a relegation battle from feb onwards. Slade was picked because he was cheap and was willing to follow Tans reduction plans.
