Is he on the sauce?

Surely producing a player means you've taken them on as a kid, brought them through the various youth ranks and they've broken into the first team?

Eg. We "produced" Aaron Ramsey.

Vimana.

Monk is a grade A t*sser.

He's shown it on a number of occasions.
Punching way above his weight right now.

Got to disagree with you here, a manager's job is making sure you get the best out of the players and he's done exactly that with Bony. It's a risk signing high scoring players in the dutch league as there have been a few duds from there, but signing Bony was spot on and Monk done well to get the best out of a target man in the system they play.

Grade A fool.

Might be a bit shaky on the figures but he can at least boast having a hand in adding 18 million in value onto a player. Who is the last player we added value to?

The reality of what Monk said and how he said has been taken out of context an that article. He says he is proud of the part he played in Bony's development, and proud of the players part, and the clubs part.

He certainly doesn't say he is responsible for producing a £28m player.

I wasn't having a go, just thought it was a bit of a stretch when it's put into a single quote like that!

He is a lucky man. Roberto started the whole thing and then manager after manager has stolen his ethos with great success.
Got to say they have worked miracles and are a credit to any club outside of the 'big 4'.
However, Monk saying they produced Bony is like saying I produced Gareth Bale because I was born in Cardiff.
Delusions? http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif

Actually it's his new Broadway musical 'A £28m player' he produced. Had some good reviews apparently.

Is he on the sauce?Gomis is being linked to Palace - I think Gomis would be a decent replacement for Bony, but if Swansea sell him too it could be interesting.

Laudrup did. But i agree with the rest of your post, to some extent its the managers job to get the best out of players. Especially in the case of obviously talented players- if they fail at a club- more often than not its down to failure in management.

Not totally true Laudrup didn't want Bony, it was a Jenkins signing. His performances in the premier league made him a £28m player.

The fella scored 40 odd goals the season before in Holland, did Monk contribute to that as well? The more I see of Monk, the more I think he's an arrogant big headed ****. It's come to the point now that I got to turn the TV over when I see his smug face appear. Don't get me wrong, I hate the Jacks with a passion, but Laudrup and Martinez never got that reaction from me, Rodgers did, but not as bad as Monk.

Typical jacks!

They get extremely fortunate (once again), and then want to tell everyone how to play football, how to run a football club, and now, how to produce multi million pound footballers!

It's like someone who wins the lottery coming out and telling us all how to pick the numbers!
