Giving evidence, the woman, now aged 48, said she had been taken to meet him by her mother and her mother's partner - who worked in the music industry.

The singer then asked if the girl could be left alone with him, she said.

The glam rock artist, who was still wearing a silver sequinned jumpsuit, then asked her to sit on his lap. He asked her for a kiss, before sexually assaulting, she said.

The ordeal lasted for about 10 minutes and only stopped when there was a knock on the dressing room door, she added.

I dont get it either

i am a fan of michael jackson's music and i do feel at times he was set-up by parents who would let young children have a " sleepover " with him and then claim he was a wrong un, this went on and on and i can only imagine it was for a payout, but what kind of sick fooker pimps out your own child to earn a few bob ? ? ?

the same with Glitter, why on earth would you leave your child alone with him when he asks " can i be alone with your daughter ", would alarm bells ring ? ? ? or where they different times back then ? ? ?

Dumbos on this thread : The general public didn't know about all these paedo perves back then.

However I am sure that people in the music industry / the BBC did know so all of those people should be
under the cosh too.

Found his greatest hits the other day amongst some old CDs.

I felt guilty for playing 'Hello'

Especially when believe it or not it's from an album called 'Touch me'

The Jury will decide if she is making it up.Maybe it is rather a painful and traumatic experience.

He used to live in Burnham where I grew up, he would stand in the high street with kids all around him, a right slimey git, gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

Dumbos on this thread : The general public didn't know about all these paedo perves back then.I dont think its a simple as that, again why would you sensibly agree to a request from a pop star asking you to leave whilst your 13 year old daughter was left in the room with him, its almost as is if it was arranged http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/sherlock.gif

It's always seemed strange to me how all they've all come out of the woodwork years after the alleged abuse, of course it's got nothing to do with the big pay outs up for grabs.

It always seems odd to me that some peoples first reaction is that women and men who report or give evidence against historic abuse must somehow be in it for something.
Or liars.
Or out to discredit the alleged perpetrator. (Bit late to avoid 'discredit' eh Jimmy, Gary ..et-al)

Most victims will just want justice and partial 'freedom' from the painful memories they may have carried with them for years.

It doesn't even add up that they stand to gain much.
To name only two - Savile is dead. Glitter is bankrupt.

To my mind it tells me something(s) about the kind of person who comes up with that notion as their first thought.
