So it's up to five now. Four of them were signed within the last year by the Transfer Committee which was set up to ensure we did not have another Cornelius type farce occur - that's going well isn't it.

Like with coaching, scouting, and player negotiation there still is no proper structure within the club to deal with the football management side.

This has to be one of the most biazarre transfer windows I've seen at Cardiff City. There is a firesale on one hand as player after player heads out but at the same time three players have arrived and another is due this week.

Guido Burgstaller is the latest to have his contract terminated by mutual agreement. He is now a free agent to go elsewhere.

The Austrian started just two games, one in the league and one in the Capital One Cup. In fact he actually scored a goal against Coventry in round 1 of the competition.

Adam Le Fondre is expected to complete a loan move to Bolton this week after failing to impress in his time so far at City. I'm not totally sure that's all his fault as the build up of City's play is shocking and not playing to Le Fordre's strengths but he hasn't won too many fans here with a very poor return of goals.

Over the weekend we saw Kimbo and John Brayford leave while Lee Peltier came in. Cardiff have been linked with Leeds Utd midfielder Rodolph Austin.

Russell Slade hinted to the media he was hoping to sign a midfielder this week and Austin was linked in the national papers.

Cardiff City Ins & Outs

Gone: Javi Guerra (loan to Malaga), Ravel Morrison (back to West Ham after loan spell with Cardiff), Jo Inge Berget (to Malmo), Mats Daehli (to Freiburg, £2m), Magnus Eikrem (free agent), Juan Cala (to Getafe, Spain), Guido Burgstaller (free agent), Kim Bo-Kyung (free agent), John Brayford (Sheffield Utd, undisc fee), Etien Velikonja (loan to Lierse, Belgium), Adedejo Oshilaja (loan to AFC Wimbledon).
Going?: , Adam Le Fondre to complete loan move to Bolton this week.

Ins: Alex Revell (from Rotherham), Scott Malone (from Millwall), Lee Peltier, (from Huddersfield), Joe Mason (back from loan at Bolton, still in rehab following hamstring injury).

Loan players currently out: Filip Kiss (Ross County), Rhys Healey (Colchester), Ben Nugent (Yeovil), Kevin McNaughton (Bolton), Joe Lewis (Blackpool), Kevin Theophile (St Etienne).

Any others I've missed?

The idea of a transfer committee was nothing but bluster from the management at the time. When Tan said last February that he'd be personally involved in the summer window and would ensure the manager didn't run wild, do you think that was bluster or was he involved but completely inept?

Like with coaching, scouting, and player negotiation there still is no proper structure within the club to deal with the football management side. The fact managers are left signing players they have worked with before (our last 3 managers did this) shows the complete lack of a scouting network of any note. The coaching squad looks thread bare, and the entire infrastructure is failing.

So who's fault is it that the kind of structure you talk about is not in place? Buck stops with the owner, if he wasn't such a control freak and wanted kiss arses around him then he would appoint someone outside his circle of cronies, who knows the football business, who could put these structures in place for the long term.

Its bluster that he was personally involved, and if he was involved he would have been out of his depth. What the club needs is a new football management structure. If theses are then employed outside of the actual football manager then so be it.

There is a firesale on one hand as player after player heads out but at the same time three players have arrived and another is due this week. That's a ridiculous amount of transfer activity, what makes is more disappointing is that some of the players leaving have either not been given a decent chance and/or are leaving for nothing despite having a decent market value not so long back.

The players we have terminated/loaned out would probably make a stronger team than the one we have playing at the moment.

Wasnt it setup to stop the Cornelius wage situation of a player going from 6k a week to 45k a week - on a ridiculously long contract with no get out clauses. As far as I know it wasnt setup to quality check the players abilities.

Am I right in thinking the only available natural winger/wide man we have now is Noone?

With Huth possibly coming in we'll have a shit load of defenders, four or five not-so-mobile midfielders, and some not-so-mobile attackers.

All we have in terms of tricky/quick/flair players is Noone and (unproven) Harris.

It looks like Slade is looking to avoid relegation by defending for the next four months.
