A great read.

Is it fair to say that if the U-21's cannot get some of the basic football skills right ie passing, retaining possession, there being no support for the attack from midfield, lack of quality up front etc, which as we all know are skills the first team lack at present, then does the whole coaching system and personnel at the football club needs urgent review?

At least with Doyle and Revell upfront it means we can play our current international striker and top scorer in the development team. That should help

As a matter of interest Paul was our manager there last night ? If not how many times to your knowledge has he attended these games since his appointment ?

As a matter of interest Paul was our manager there last night ? If not how many times to your knowledge has he attended these games since his appointment ?I thought TOBW was a bit harsh on the midfield,Southam and the wingers were getting in the box and Ben Watkins was busting a gut to get forward when he could. There were some poor final balls and wrong options taken but we were unlucky not to score,I'm sure Johnson would've filled his boots if he'd stayed on.It was good to see a City side get behind a defence and work a keeper,if only for 30 minutes.Hopefully it's given Slade some ideas.

A couple of things DVP related; One thing I didn't mention about Monday's match on my blog was that I didn't see any evidence of a new, more direct, approach by the team - they still looked to build from the back.

Whats going on with Tidjane Balde?Apparently he flew in last week for a medical(http:// www.tribalfootball.com/articles/inter-milan-prospect-tidjane -balde-jets-cardiff-4060746#.VNPPENKsVIY (http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/inter-milan-prospect-tidjane-balde-jets-cardiff-4060746#.VNPPENKsVIY))but I was sure we'd already announced his signing twice before that.I haven't heard anything since.Seems a bit odd, even for us.Definitely.I've been dreading turning up and finding Maxi at centre forward but there's no sign of anything like that happening.Horton rolled it out most of the time on Monday and Terroso stuck with the 4-5-1 even when Johnson and Hill were on together and when we were chasing the game late on.In fact, with Slade employing a similar system against Colchester and then Derby maybe we're seeing signs that the tail is starting to wag the dog. That'd be fine by me.
