I'll start:

I live in Surrey - so not exactly a hot bed of Cardiff City fans (apart from our household).

My youngest son's school bus driver was Gabor Gyepes best man.

Top that.

I once met George Best whose playing style reminds me of the great Miguel Comminges.I once bumped into, the then future, the now former Cardiff manager, the then current, the now former Wales manager Bobby Gould. I said "Hello" and he asked me if I watched the "rugger" on Saturday. I said "No" and we parted on those terms.

I once had a pint in the beer garden of The Masons Arms in Marshfield and Paul Parry and his missus arrived. They sat on the next table to me and never said a word to each other....just looked really glum.
I'd had a shit week in work too.....'what have they got to be miserable about?' I thought to myself.....
Then I heard about the rumours. Glad I didnt ask for his autograph now. http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/getmycoat.gif

A few years ago I was walking in the Amazon rain forest with a couple of Brazilian friends and a local guide and the conversation turned to the subject of very poor footballers who seem to have made a living from the game. I mentioned Jörn Schwinkendorf and explained how atrocious he was.
By an amazing coincidence, guess who I saw drinking at the bar in the airport just outside Rio?
Yes, you've guessed it. Some tourists that I didn't know.

I had a pint with Steve Derrett in The Borough last Saturday before the Derby game, saying that I've been to Blackpool with him loads of times on the St Albans bus. Brian Attley equalised against us in The Seager Cup Final (u/15s Cardiif schools) and we shared the trophy. When I lived in Swinton St, Albert Stitfall lived just down the street. Worked on the trowel with Harry Parfitt (played first division football for the City in the 50s). Played with Frankie Rankmore's son, also Frankie, had many a pint with a Frank Snr. Won the Handicap Cup in baseball against Newport Civil Service, Graham Coldrick played for them. Played for Barry Town with Albert Burns (a Scot who the City signed from Spurs in the early 60s). Played in the same Cardiff boys baseball team as Brian Attley and Colin Toshack. Played for the City's Welsh League side once, Don Murray and Bobby Woodruff managed the side and gave us a fiver each. I think if you live in Cardiff it's hard to avoid the feckers http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif

I once escaped the Viet Cong on a motorcycle with Steve 'Lethal' Lynex riding pillion and Nicky Plataneur in the side-car. Lynex reckoned he had an itchy arse from all the spicy food and just couldn't stay still on the bike, which meant we had to stop just outside Hanoi for Nicky to apply some savlon - the shitter was we couldn't get the bike started again, we were getting panicky but at that moment a long haired, tanned beauty appeared as if from nowhere with a bag of spanners and a can do attitude. That long haired beauty was none other than Paul Wimbleton, and the rest my friends is history. Good times.

Played cricket at under 15 level for Wales with Big John Toshack who opened the batting with another footballer called Geoff (or Jeff) Thomas who played for Newport County. Two good batsmen but both chose footie over cricket too not surprising when you saw the make up of the Glamorgan team then (I think) and the money that was on offer.
