Alive, but too young to remember this well-known stat.

I'm not quite old enough to remember those games but I do have a match programme for one of them.
A Maths teacher friend of mine once worked out that the chances of two clubs meeting in the third round of the cup three years running with the same team at home each time were 1 in over 2 million. Factor in the chances of each match producing the same result - a 2-1 away win - and it becomes something like a 1 in 2 billion chance !
Incidentally, 6 of our 12 wins against Leeds in this last 31 years have also been 2-1. For someone interested in stats like me the whole Leeds thing is a joy to behold.

Not quite. The 3rd game in the series took place in the year before I first went down the City. This incredible sequence certainly shows that, by and large, the Fates don't look favourably on Leeds United as far as Cardiff City is concerned.

Maybe the two sides caught together and carved the third game - I think we might have heard about it before now if that were the case mind http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/sherlock.gif .

As young as I was then ,that's when the Bluebirds got hold of me ,the dates of January 7 1956 and January 5 1957 I do not remember, but December 7 1957 when they beat Barnsley 7-0 in the league division two ,as then, thats for some unknown reason the city bug got its teeth into me,the next major result was beating Leeds 2-1 on the 4 January 1958 with goals by Harrington and Cliff Nugent, going on to beat Leytou Orient4-1 in the 4th round before going out in the 5th round after a replay to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in an afternoon kick off , no floodlights then.
