...look fuucked with the Indonesian government just releasing a statement that their executions take place tonight.

Did we have this international condemnation of the death penalty when the same government shot the Bali Bombers?

Is it live on TV ?
The Chinese Government would charge their families the cost of the bullet.
No sympathy at all for them.

Stupid move by Indonesia, how can they make any kind of case when their citizens are executed in Saudi Arabia for lesser reasons?

It's all politically motivated as their new President is losing popularity, so he is appealing to hardline sentiment. He's also banned the sale of beer in shops.

A quick check and their currency is already on the slide.

Stupid move by Indonesia, how can they make any kind of case when their citizens are executed in Saudi Arabia for lesser reasons? Also why were the UN! and every other country who appealed for a custodial sentence not making the same claims to the land of the free... the USA. They have executed 1400 over the past 30 odd years and have 3000 awaiting the chop on death row. Or China where nobody even knows how many have faced the same fate, probably substantially more... its political point scoring, I don't think they really care about the individuals or their families.

This is very sad reading, especially the part where the (innocent) mother said goodbye to her children for the last time.

I personally don't agree with the taking of any life least of all under some barbaric state law.
Yes, these people deserved to be punished and a mandatory life sentence should be the minimum for those who knowingly get involved in such large scale smuggling.
However, let's look at additional things that can be for the greater good. Let's put these people to work by bringing people into the prison and being talked to by the convicted about the reality of the drugs trade and the consequences of getting involved.
These executions have no place, IMHO, in the modern world and just rack up yet more deaths attributable to the drugs trade.

We need to be more progressive with punishment not turn it into a reality show based on an episode of the Game of Thrones.

It's a sad case but if you know that the law in a particular country is " death" for drug smuggling then why the hell do it....
