Ironic the country where Labour was created , the country where labour gave it its first taste of devolution and Independence too, is about to hand the Tories a possible victory .

If Labour is left to only fight on the English / Welsh front its doomed.

Nationalism is now at the fore front of politics , inclusive parties like Labour / Liberal are doomed by the look of it ??

Far from locking the Tories out Sturgeon has contributed to putting them in. Might benefit Labour in Scotland next time around.

The people of this fine nation have decided. Just putting particular sub sections of the vote into isolation is futile - the dinner ladies of Barry probably voted Labour but will end up with Alun Cairns as their MP - tough.

Yes good point , perhaps they worked this out and were going for the long game , insiders wanted Ed out , new SNP were going to beat the up after the Independence loss, yes you might have a very valid point .

Scotland voted for progressive politics, it's England and Wales that didn't and probably Labour that will turn it's back on that sort of politics now.

Even with the snp being converted to labour wouldn't result in a majority for labour

Even with the snp being converted to labour wouldn't result in a majority for labourThis is true. Even converting all SNP votes would not make Labour the party with the most votes. However, it will give the Scots more of a voice than they would have had in voting for a losing Labour Party where their needs/concerns would have been ignored by Labour Central Office.

It was a game of chess that Ed couldn't win. Sturgeon would protect her vote so couldn't say that the SNP would support a Tory government. Tory's were smart but divisive about this issue and Ed was in a no win. If the lib dems had been under the same scrutiny to nail their colours to the mast in pre election debates last time as the SNP were this time then we wouldn't have seen a condem coalition imo...

Voting SNP was about the scots having a powerful voice in parliament.
