He had a good innings. Saw him twice over the years, one of the best blues guitarists.

Very sad. Saw him live back in the 80's and still one of my favourite gigsSadly, I never saw him live. I had a ticket to see him at the Alexandra Palace many moons ago but the placed burned down before the gig took place and was cancelled. My colleague saw him play in 1974......in Taunton!

I was just scouring YouTube for one of his songs that I used to love as a kid, turned out it was by Muddy Waters (Mannish Boy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVrsTj7F1cM)) who's been dead for 33 years.

Someone just said on the radio that you only had to listen to a few seconds of one of his songs to recognise who it was - that's not a bad epitaph.

A superb blues guitarist and a fantastic blues voice - a combination given to very few, but I'm still not sure which was the better of the two.

RIP.

Magnificent musician whose style influenced so many who followed.
It's an over used word but surely he qualifies to be called a legend.

saw him in St David's Hall, boy could he make that guitar sing, the resonance of the sound made your hair stand up. RIP BB, legend http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/bow.gif

One of the few times the word legend means just that RIP.

Magnificent musician whose style influenced so many who followed.Without a shadow of doubt. I would imagine that his place in musical history is assured - and that a century from now his name will still be known to any aficionados of the blues and music in general.

I saw him at Hammersmith Odeon, it must have not long before he died

RIP BB, I don't often call people legends either but he definitely was one.

Had the pleasure of seeing BB on a number of occasions. Great player and beautiful tone.

As others have said, a legend is such an overused word, but for BB it really is appropriate.

RIP BB. Legend

He certainly was a legend.
The sad fact is if he was born white he would have been bigger than Sinatra, but that's the would we live in I'm afraid.

RIP BB.

Only a few weeks ago we lost Ben. E. King and just this morning we
have learned that B.B King has died.
If I were you, I would grab a Burger King today whilst you have the
chance.
