It was a very special night. The atmosphere was like a throwback to the 70's but without any hint of nastiness or violence.

A privilege to have been there.

The moment around 87 minutes where we sung the anthem almost brought a tear to my eye. Best atmosphere that stadium has ever seen, including City games.

As an overseas fan - wokingham , Berks- I was so proud to hear the anthem sung impromptu , real spine tingling moment at about 70 and 89 minutes ... Wish I was there

Yeah a fab night.I felt so proud of my National Team at my club's ground. So emotional especially due to our anthem being sang a few times during the game which I have never experienced before after watching Wales for over nearly 30 years . http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/ayatollah.gif

Didn't manage to get a ticket and was working anyway, but didn't expect the anthem to be belted out like that during the game, truly felt proud seeing/hearing that happen on the TV. Wish I had been there.

Can't help bring it up but the difference between us and rugby is that everyone was there for the game and the result. Great though it was, spine tingling even, the atmosphere and the occasion was not the main focus.

Passion for the game and the team makes that. In rugby at Millstad too many go for a great time, footy just isn't like that.

Proud to have been there.

Strangest thing and in contrast to everything was an elderly couple next to me who left on 83 minutes with the old geezer saying quietly " we can get out of the car park sharpish if we go now"- I was gobsmacked.

As an overseas fan - wokingham , Berks- I was so proud to hear the anthem sung impromptu , real spine tingling moment at about 70 and 89 minutes ... Wish I was there I was watching at home, and it was a fantastic moment. I've always scoffed at fans (apart from the French, their anthem is pretty decent) singing the anthem during a game. I'm mainly thinking of the English here. I didn't think the Welsh crowd would have enough, ahem, knowledge to carry it off (oh, and our anthem is very decent btw). But, they did, and it was fantastic and - as random says - a spine tingling and emotional moment. I have no doubt that it gave the players a huge boost too.

Everyone used to have a go at Swansea fans singing the anthem on MOTD, now you all love it. (I've always loved hearing the jacks singing it)
Like it or not, the Swansea fans started all the singing off down there Friday night.
No wonder our stadiums atmosphere is crap. Bunch of neanderthals too busy drinking booze watch cardiff.

There we go. If proof were ever needed that we don't need some professional singer on the pitch to do the anthems, that's it. Far, far better sound than having some tart showboating over the tannoy.

Well done everyone.

I've just got back from camping and had listened to the game on the radio. But even on the radio the anthem (and the atmosphere) was amazing.

I was overcome, emotionally, by the sense of solidarity that came out of this wonderful - but tense - experience.

Thanks for adding the visual dimension to this.

it was the best atmosphere for a welsh football game in sometime
i would imagine the next 2 home games are equally as good
hope the FAW take a leaf out of the WRU book and just let the crowd sing the anthem at the start, that bird sang it too quick and spoilt it for me http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/thumbup.gif
still epic night tho

Gutted to have missed it, but here's what it sounded like on the tele.A tear did come to my eye. It seems like football fans in Wales are really wrapping themselves in the flag these days. So proud.

The clapping to Zombie etc. sounded incredible from the corner of the Canton/Ninian. It was like wearing headphones.

it was the best atmosphere for a welsh football game in sometime its often the case they sing it too quickly. I always wonder if they are told it need to fit in with the timings for telly. the renditions in the second half proved we dont need any singers to front it. so powerful

I loved the way the crowd tried to keep up with the singer's high note at the end!

Did anyone else notice this?

it was the best atmosphere for a welsh football game in sometime Ive emailed FAW. THey should have the words signed on the screen with a green dot keeping tempo above the words - for the singer not the fans.
