From what I've read, his coach's alleged crime is to have his charges diagnosed with an underactive thyroid so he can whack in huge doses of thyroxin. This does not seem to be an illegal substance but can enhance athletic performance.

Apart from the dodgy diagnosis, I'm not sure any rules have been broken.

By this token, I too should be (and indeed am) a powerhouse athlete, being on a massive wallop of the Levo!

Missed a test because he didn't hear his door bell, seems a bit odd.

but he is quoted as saying "I didn't hear the doorbell" http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif He would have been reported for missing a test and the time would have been given in the report. All athletes have to give an hour of every day when they would be available for testing.

He would have been reported for missing a test and the time would have been given in the report. All athletes have to give an hour of every day when they would be available for testing. But, by saying he did not hear the doorbell, he is insinuating that he was at home. (as above, they would have left a card stating the time they called), so he could not lie and say he was out as he had no alibi. http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/getmycoat.gif

I'm out at the moment - I wouldn't be able to hear my doorbell if it rang now. http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/getmycoat.gif He has still undergone a huge amount of drug testing over the 5 year period when he missed 2 tests, and he hasnt broken the laws as you are allowed to miss 3 tests, before a ban.

It doesn't matter if he was in or out, he stated that for that hour of the day he would be at home and available for drug testing. I think this is sometimes overlooked by people. The testers don't come every Thursday or book an appointment with you three months in advance. He's got two young twin girls, I agree that it's not that difficult to imagine that he might not have heard the doorbell in his presumably massive house.

He claimed and tried to provide evidence that in certain areas of his house he is unable to hear the doorbell, it wasn't seen as conclusive evidence and the missed test stands. If this article came with a list of people who have missed tests over the last 5 year, i think it would be clear that this is more common than we think.

There are many Athletes how have missed test, if you had to state that you would be at home for an hour for every day of the year, and the tester would come randomly on any of these given day, would it seem incredible to miss 1 or 2 of these tests. Yep but because his coach is under question for possible drugs offences, the media will be looking for every possible story or angle in relation to it. As you've said previously he hasn't broken any rules as he missed only 2 tests.
