WTF is all that about? Whoever designed the road system and signposts in Reading had to have been on drugs.

I particularly like the lack of signposts on major roundabouts and intersections telling you little things like where the M4 might be found. Another nice touch is tiny signposts to where you might want to go appearing halfway up a sliproad when you've already passed the junction.

I had the misfortune of having agreed to pick someone up from Reading Train station - which is not a small place. However, the signposts appear then disappear before, when you finally figure out where it is (roughly), confidently directing you to a drop-off South or drop-off North (meaning what?) which turns out for the North to be a hole in the Ground in which there is allegedly a waiting area for cars - which I could not find either.

I think I can confidently say that'll be the first and last time I ever drive into Reading voluntarily.

Rant over...

I have been living down here for about 15 years now and have recently got the hang of it. http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif

Not helped by the main road out to the M4 suddenly just being shown as closed on the route I was travelling and them simply diverting you into a backstreet to find your own way out. I was waiting to be carjacked at one stage as it seemed so surreal...
