There's a press conference today to announce stadium naming rights have been sold for the Millennium Stadium. Principality Building Society are the favourites to secure the naming rights.

Don't like stadiums being renamed but it doesn't sound as bad as others.

Also made me think about the naming rights for our stadium. Whatever happened to that? I assume the club will profit from any naming rights now?

That name reminds us all that Wales is, officially, a Principality of England. http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/sad.gif

Hope not. Really not a fan of that term when applied to Wales.

I'm sick of that shit.Wales was only ever a principality between 1216 and 1542 and even then its area was significantly different to the area of Wales today.

I'm confused at to what we really are.

We're not a member state of the United Nations in our own right which means we can't be referred to as a country on Pointless (THE definitive test). So whats it to be?

I've never understood that. A principality is just a monarchy, where the ruling monarch has the title "prince". It doesn't imply, that it is a smaller part of another country.A colony?

Talk of the press conference was on Twitter yesterday, although the mainstream news sources only started mentioning it today, which was a surprise as supposedly they've been in discussions about this for a while.
