Best prime minister Labour never had.
I will always remember the Mike Yarwood 'silly billy' impersonation.
I liked Healey.
He lived to a ripe old age.
Wow. Had no idea he was still alive.

I thought he had died a long time a go.
Glad to see that no one appears to be releasing a single about the death like they did with Thatcher.

I liked Healey.Accused Margaret Thatcher of "glorying in slaughter" during the Falklands conflict
I will always remember the Mike Yarwood 'silly billy' impersonation.
I liked Healey.
He lived to a ripe old age.The difference is that Healey raised taxes for the richer, whereas Dave and Gideon are hitting the disadvantaged of society.

I will always remember the Mike Yarwood 'silly billy' impersonation.
I liked Healey.
He lived to a ripe old age.
^^^^^^^^^^^It wasn't just the rich he was speaking to at the time, I think his view of socialism would be at odds with the current leader.
Decent Socialist. True but moderate.
Decent man.
RIP
Very sad but hardly surprised that that sad cwunt Livingstone still couldn't miss up the chance to have a dig at him for something that happened 40 odd years ago, even on TV News asked for his reaction to his death.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised it is typical of the man his politics and his ilk!

This. When will Labour see someone of his stature again. This government are collecting more in taxes now than they were in 2010. It's a myth that the conservatives are a low tax party, they just prefer indirect taxation instead of direct.

This is an accurate and well written tribute to him in my opinion;-

Speaking as someone who lived through and can remember the 70s, it's interesting to read the paragraphs about how the economy improved during his tenure as Chancellor - saying that the economic problems of that decade were solely down to his party is as much of a myth as the one which says Labour caused the 2008 downturn in this country.
He also had a talent for one liners
