Morbid subject, but it happens to us all. The great David Bowies passing was a shocker for most people today.
Got me to thinking. Are you scared of dying? Obviously anybody in good health wants to live as long as they can, but what are your inner thoughts about meeting the grim reaper? Has anyone on here been close to death or had a near death experience?

Yes, I went to Millwall three times in the seventies.

I think it hits home when your childhood heroes start dying, Ziggy Stardust was my first album i bought, favourite band was T Rex and the first band i ever saw was The Who, now that generation are passing on it makes you realise it's your's next.

I always find it strange when people express shock when someone dies around 70 or older.

The great David Bowies passing was a shocker for most people today.January 1975, i was a scared schoolkid from Beddau who was 180 miles from home and realised that my mate wanting to revisit some of his old South East London mates was a very bad idea, that day gave me nightmares for quite a while after.

I never got why people thought he was clean cut type of individual, he spent a year only consuming red peppers, drinking milk and taking cocaine. Im only in my mid 20's but I really couldnt care when death comes, if it happens today or in 50 years, what difference does it make, I tend to see things from a universal perspective and embrace the meaninglessness of humanity and just enjoy my life for what it is, when it ends it ends like everything.

As long as death isn't a long, drawn out, agony then it'll happen when it happens.

Morbid subject, but it happens to us all. The great David Bowies passing was a shocker for most people today.I'm not scared of dying, but I am scared of leaving my son without a father growing up - that absolutely petrifies me.

I'm not frightened of dying, there are worse things than death IMHO.

I've been very lucky, I have a wonderful family and friends, I (mostly) enjoy my job, I've travelled and enjoyed my life. I'd like to see my son married and to be a grandfather one day, but life has been good.
