View Full Version : FT: Reading 1 - 1 Cardiff City. Matchday thread

Reading are on a run of 11 games without a win against Cardiff in league competition (D6 L5), last beating their South Wales opponents 5-2 in April 2006.
Cardiff are unbeaten in six games at the Madejski Stadium (including play-off games), winning two and drawing four.
The Bluebirds have picked up three wins from their last four matches (L1), winning the last time they were on the road against Bristol City.
After going five games without defeat, the Royals have lost back-to-back matches for the first time since December.
Reading have scored more goals in the opening 15 minutes than any other side this season (12).
Cardiff have conceded a league-high four own goals in the Championship this season.

I remember that 5-2 defeat. Total humiliation.Reading looked like world beaters that day, the best team I had seen in the Championship for years.
Think rugby will be on Radio Wales. Without buying a subscription to player, any other way to listen today? Radio Berkshire maybe?

They are live from the Madjeski right now, hopefully they stay for the match.

Very surprised by that stat 11 league games without a win against us in the league, 1-2 city is my prediction we need to push on. Derby have already won, Seff Weds will prob Beat Carlton home so we need atleast 1 point to stay in touching distance.

Hudson equalises for Huddersfield against Leeds. (1 - 1).
Doesn't affect the play-off chase, but hey, it's Huds scoring against Leeds!

Could have been 2-0.
Defence shaky.
Big half time talk from Slade needed and maybe changes
its not over until the big-boned woman warbles
Looking at our bench, not really a lot of quality on there today that you'd think would change things around. Just hope we score from two corners.

Had to be winning this - Sheff Weds 3 points & better goal difference.
Not exactly piling on the pressure.

Taken a draw in September but not today.
Fair point.
Lost ground on Wednesday and Derby, but gained on Ipswich and Preston.
Games running out.
Play-offs always unlikely, though still possible, but I don't think we're playing well enough to get there (from the Player commentary today).
Ah, just seen that Preston equalised.

3 points behind Wednesday but with a very inferior goal difference, so basically 4 points behind. Still all to play for we can do it.

Looking at the remaining fixtures for us, Derby, Sheff Weds, Birmingham and Ipswich I think we're in with a good shout.
It's at least going to be an entertaining end to the season!

Decent point considering how poor we were first half. Thought Ameobi was decent for a change, noone was disappointing.
