Just been listening to the commentary and it must have been good to be there.

Planning the Oval for August.

Thumping victory. What was so good to see was Cooke and Wagg smashing Sussex in the final 10 overs. Over 100 runs off the last 9 overs. A very good win.

I'm going to be a bit of a doom merchant here and say that;-

1. Sussex haven't won a game under the 50 over format since 2014.
2. Although the tables I've looked at put us at the top of the league in the 50 over competition, I thought we had points deducted for that match with Hampshire last season which got abandoned because of the dodgy pitch?

Also, what a desperate season Jacques Rudolph is having. He finally got his first fifty in any format this season on Monday, only to then be run out for the third time in about a fortnight and then, having shown a bit of form at last, has to retire yesterday with an injury which, thankfully, doesn't seem to be as serious as first feared.

Still, I can't be too pessimistic with a start of four wins and one defeat in one day cricket this year, we look a well balanced squad and we're bowling very well at the moment - even in what I call proper cricket, we can hope that the table is lying somewhat because, after a pretty awful first five games, we definitely had the better of current league leaders Essex in our last four day match.

Paul. Nope we were deducted points for the Hants game last season in addition to the points deduction carried over from the previous season. So we started this season with a clean slate

The squad just looks more suited for the shorter form, having Lloyd opening and then Bragg in at three makes the top order stronger. Having Ingram in there strengthens the batting, and then having Wagg and Meschede as all rounders look decent.

For championship cricket the top order is still a suspect. and we are exposing our stronger lower order to too new a ball.

In the shorter form you could say that we are playing old fashioned cricket, where we start slow, and build to a score around 300 and try to defend, where we are seeing something totally different at the Oval and Trent Bridge. However i feel that we have to play to our styles and it is working for us at the moment, although there could be the odd hammering at away grounds.

There are promising signs at Glamorgan, we have Lloyd, Donald, Salter, TVG, and Meschede all under 25, so hopefully we can build the side and future around these players, whilst the players over 30 can hold on for a few more years to help these players come through.

I'd still like to see another specialist batsman who could slot into the top three and I think we'd probably come second in a batting shoot out on the sort of pitches we've seen at Trent Bridge this week. However, I can see at least four of those five under 25s you mention becoming mainstays of the team for the next few years (hopefully Salter's bowling can improve a level) and maybe the situation isn't as hopeless as I thought it was a month ago!

Another thumping win in T20 tonight. That's the 4th win in a week and 5 wins in 6 one day games. The return to fitness of Colin Ingram has made a big difference.

A win for Glamorgan and a loss for (temporary) leaders Surrey at Somerset. A great night for Glammy. Top again.
