Match facts

Cardiff have not lost any of their last six league meetings with Huddersfield (W4 D2) and won both matches last season.
The Terriers have lost their last five visits to Cardiff in all competitions, last winning there in September 2001, thanks to goals from Dwayne Mattis and Danny Schofield in a 2-1 victory.
No Championship player's goals have been worth more points this term than Huddersfield's Elias Kachunga (nine points from five goals).
No side has lost more Championship games after conceding the first goal this season than Cardiff (9).
Cardiff have gone 15 games without a clean sheet in league competition; they last went 16 without a shutout in November 1989.
The Terriers have won just once in their last five league games (D1 L3), shipping 10 goals in the process.

Cardiff forward Junior Hoilett is expected to be fit for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship game at home to Huddersfield.

Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock is confident Hoilett will overcome a minor strain that ruled him out of Canada's friendly against South Korea last weekend.

Anthony Pilkington is likely to return after missing the defeat to Newcastle two weeks ago with a knock while Jazz Richards and Matt Connolly are both close to regaining fitness.

Frederic Gounongbe has impressed in training this week and could be in line for a surprise starting spot up front.

Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy has no fitness issues but will be assessed by head coach David Wagner after returning from international duty with Australia.

Mooy played the full 90 minutes in Australia's 2-2 draw in Thailand on Tuesday, but is expected to be available.

Fellow midfielder Kasey Palmer will also be monitored after he was forced out of the recent home draw against Birmingham due to a hip injury, while striker Nahki Wells is expected to recover from illness.

Forward Harry Bunn is hoping to return to contention after missing out against Birmingham due to a hamstring strain.

Just read the FootyMad (Cardiff City Online) match preview. Why is it using the 'old' dragon crest for Cardiff? That's the sort of thing opposition bloggers do as a wind up!

We look a physically intimidating team from set pieces these days with Bamba, Morrison and Lambert. Huddersfield passing the ball around nicely but struggling to cope with our no nonsense approach.

Come on Cardiff, hang in there. This would be a huge result if they can.

There's a lot of goals in this league today. Apart from a couple of joyless looking bore-draws.

C'mon City :-)

Backs against the wall job for last 20 minutes. Showed character though and never buckled. Bamba towering and immense. Good game and cracking 3 points.

Positive effort from Fred when he came on. Won important free kicks that kept ball away from our goal.

That was a great game of football today, and the most important thing was that we deserved the win based on the threat we posed. Huddersfield had a lot of the ball but, apart from their beautifully worked first goal, didn't really test Amos other than the world class goal from Billing which 9 times out of 10 misses.

Ignore the possession stats, for the first time in a while I felt we were properly competing today despite Huddersfield being a good side with some great players.

For their second goal we should have had a free kick for a foul on Joe Bennett as he tried to clear our lines just a few seconds earlier. The ref played an advantage that didn't exist and was then inconsistent as not long after he let them try and get advantage from another situation and then pulled play back when it didn't happen.

However, a great game of football and a great win from a game I genuinely expected nothing from. Be really interesting to see how we play at Villa - I've got a sneaky feeling that Joe Bennett might want to get his first goal for us in that game...

not forgetting letting them play on in the 1st hslf when a player was down in our area, then as soon as we had the ball blew up.

not forgetting letting them play on in the 1st hslf when a player was down in our area, then as soon as we had the ball blew up.

Yes confusing.
But at the same time we had about 4 handballs within 10 minutes of the 2nd half which went unnoticed by the officials.
I think the ref was both generous and bad for both sides today.
