Are you crazy man, of course he should have. The fact that the transfer window was closed and the emergency loan window has been scrapped is irrelevant. He should have found a way to sign Costa.

Silly me. Of course, you're right. :hehe:

If he's going for the 30% possession game then he needs someone like Vardy.
Like dopey eric keeps on about Leicester winning the Prem with little possession.

We haven't had a decent striker since Rudy departed.

How about throwing Noone up front? Pretty fast, not a bad finisher

Worth a punt?

His goal-scoring record says otherwise.

I stopped going when they sold Toshack.

If there was a top class striker who was a free agent then yeah.

Look what the likes of Aston Villa have spent on those considered "top strikers" and tell me where the money is going to come from.

Lower league sides ala Dwight Gayle at P'boro and Andre Gray.....or a kid called Rhys Healey at Newport who's worth a shot.

Presumably, had the window not been closed, Warnock would have spent the £50+million at his disposal and done his upmost to persuade "top class strikers" to bypass the world's top leagues on route to Cardiff City, the club renowned for churning strikers and losing millions in the process.

I agree that there is talent to be picked out of the lower leagues but as soon as they demonstrate obvious potential they will be too expensive for us, and all else is a risk which will be best picked out by an expert of the lower league. Like someone who spent 20 years there and surname sounded all Christmassy, for example...
