Watched a documentary about this the other day on BBC 4. Total lunacy. cars with no restrictions or regulations, so they were building absolute monsters, with no thought of safety. you had to be a lunatic just to drive them, and the spectators (if you can call them that) were psychopaths.......if you got hit by a car, you were seen as a hero, so they would stay in the middle of the course as long as possible, and hope to get clipped by a car. Can't think of a Modern day sport that was so out of control. What's your shout for most dangerous modern day sport?
