I agree, a very disappointing end, but Bolt's achievements will live on.

Why has this thread been pounced on by the pedants? Unacceptable the amount of times Nick's posts become irrelevant because of idiots with agendas. No doubt, Nick will be the one banned, but at least he's trying to make this a football/sport messageboard.

Yup, Bolt has a great legacy. Ok, mostly due to him being seemingly the only Jamaican athlete not to have failed a drugs test, but still a great athlete.

The sport of athletics is dying on its feet.
The tv coverage which tries to market it, is unfortunately killing it at the same time.
I watched an hour this morning of BBC's coverage and 80% of the rhetoric was about Bolt and Gatlin, the goodie and the baddie.
Whether or not Gatlin should or should not have raced because of his past conviction for drugs cheating should not be up for discussion IMO. Everyone knew the rules before the championships started so why bring this up just because the people's favourite lost?

Agree with the comment BTW about hijacking of the thread by the pedantic posse, that said we wouldn't have had the excellent tits quip

True.
The guy wasn't banned for life - that's a different discussion, but he was eligible to compete and we have to assume that he beat Bolt fair and square.
Bolt indicated that he himself felt he could have done better.

Personally, I think anyone caught unquestionably cheating should be removed from their sport.
It would avoid all this controversy and provide a better deterrent.

This one race cannot begin to take the shine off Bolts life achievements .
