Was born nearest to the CCS?
I was born in St David’s hospital, probably among many others on here, but who was born closest? It’s time to stake your claim.

Demolition work has started on a historic Cardiff hospital to make way for student accommodation.

Bulldozers have swept most of the west wing of the Cardiff Royal Infirmary away in Adamsdown as work starts on accommodation for more than 600 students.

The landmark building will be transformed into Glossop Hall and is one of the growing number of large-scale student accommodation developments across the city.

A baby? :hehe: nah, I thought I was going to go in to labour in the millennium stadium though, that was just from the climb to get to my seat in the back row, not sure who thought it was a good idea to sit all the way up there when I was 8 months gone.

Wellington street, Riverside, when it was all terraced houses back then before the slum clearance. When I was 4 years old our home, and loads of others in our neighbourhood, was deemed not fit for human occupation.

And loads of pubs, The Red Cow etc

When we was kids we always bought chips in the chip shop in Wellington street with our bus fares and walked home to Rumney

They moved us out in 1962 when they condemned about 115 houses in the area, Wells street, north Morgan place, Wellington street, Ann street and others among the streets affected.

My Mum was from Wells St.

129 Ninian Park Road isdirectly opposite Wells St. Spent tons of time in Nicky’s Corner shop buying sweets with my Mum as a kid. My old man was born and raised in Beauchamp St, Riverside - apparently quite exclusive in the 40’s and 50’s. not quite so siloubrious these days

129 for me

I think this one has it - 0.6 miles from CCS. I was born halfway down Clive Street Grangetown, 1.3 miles from CCS. Ninian Park was closer but Straightouttacanton would still nick it by 0.4 of a mile.

I worked for a plumbing firm in Wellington St in the 80’s called GF Dursley. There was a painting and decorating company next to it and John Toshacks brother Colin worked for them.
